The Committee on Higher Technical Education (CHTE) along with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conduct on-site evaluation to Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) relative to its conversion into a university on July 16-19, 2018 at the CNSC Main Campus and its satellite campuses.

Honorable Renato J. Unico, Jr., Representative 1st District of Camarines Norte passed House Bill No. 637 to convert CNSC in Camarines Norte as Camarines Norte State University.

In his message during the opening program, CNSC President Dr. Rusty G. Abanto emphasized on the Four Principles that CNSC should achieve to be entitled as a university, Good Governance by ensuring transparency, accountability and participatory decision making, Hiring of the Best and the Brightest Faculty who will be provide quality and effective services, Quality Assurance by submitting to continual assessment and mentioned about the institution’s massive efforts on Accreditation, ISO Certification and Institutional Sustainability Assessment as well as initiatives for Internationalization by supporting and investing on faculty and student’s mobility and Best Facilities by working on world class facilities that conforms with international standards to support and sustain delivery of services. He recognized the fact that submitting CNSC to become a university is a herculean task, he is also aware of what CNSC can do and what it cannot do as an institution. He considered CHED-CHTE visit an opportunity to provide inputs to further improve services and ready to take the evaluator’s recommendations as basis for laying down plans and projects for the college.

The On-Site Assessment Team is in the province to visit CNSC main campus and satellite campuses for Document Analysis, Evaluation, Interviews, Ocular Inspection of Facilities and Learning Resources. Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG) Team from CHED National Office is spearheaded by Dr. Mary Sylvette T. Gunigundo and CHED Regional Quality Assurance Team (RQAT) is headed by Director George M. Colorado. CHTE Assessment Team arrived on Thursday July 19, 2018 for their review, evaluation and interview. The visit aims to check CNSC’s readiness to become a university.
