Camarines Norte State College through its International Relations and Linkages Office (IRLO) participates in the Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher Project) which aims to provide opportunities for Pre-Service Student Teachers from universities of Southeast Asia to have teaching experiences (practicum) in institutions in different countries of Southeast Asia. The project is also expected to enable the student teachers develop their teaching skills and pedagogy, encourage students to practice their English skills, allow them to gain a broader regional and world view and expose future teachers to diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities and instill in them the value of flexibility.

To address the demands of internationalization and continuing commitment to become a premier higher education institution, CNSC College President Dr. Rusty G. Abanto agreed to be one of the collaborating universities in this year’s SEA-Teacher Project. Ma. Angela Josefa G. Pioquinto, head of CNSC-IRLO facilitated CNSC’s participation to this international undertaking.

The college sent Christine A. Bautista- Music, Arts and Physical Education and Ryza Anne A. Guevarra- Biological Science 4th Year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) students from the College of Education (COEd) qualified as participants to the SEA-Program and they will be doing their student teaching immersion in Universitas Negeri Padang in Indonesia from January 7-February 3, 2019. Also, Shena Mae D. Opeda-English and Eric D. Jovillano-Mathematics both 4th Year BSEd students from COEd will be having their practicum in Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University in Thailand on January 7-February 5, 2019.

In return, CNSC warmly accepted Triana Krisandini- 3rd year Chemistry Education, and Latifa Nurliyan-4th year Mathematics Education students from University of Bengkulu, Indonesia as participating students for the SEA-Teacher Project, Batch 7. They will be experiencing the actual teaching and learning scenario and engaging in classroom interaction in the College of Education under close cooperation and supervision of College of Education Faculty from January 7-February 5, 2019.

The SEA Teacher project is conducted through coordination and facilitation of the Southeast Asia Ministries of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
