About
Ms. Marianne Mae I. Jalgalado earned her baccalaureate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Audio-Visual Communication, at Bicol University in 2010 with the Latin Honor of Magna cum Laude and the following major recognitions: University Academics Excellence Awardee, Best University Undergraduate Thesis Researcher, and Outstanding College Graduate. She also served as the Student Council President of BU College of Arts and Letters from 2009-2010.
Ms. Jalgalado was also recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol and one of the national finalists for the Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) in 2010 at Malacañang Palace.
She earned her master’s degree, MA English, at the University of Nueva Caceres in 2019 with the distinction Excellence in Oral Defense. Right now, Ms. Jalgalado is pursuing her doctorate degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Language and Literacy Development, at Ateneo de Naga University.
As an alumna of TOSP, she has been dedicating herself in conducting community projects and leadership training services in the different provinces of Bicol. She also served as the Regional Chair of TOSP-Bikol from 2017 to 2022. TOSP-Bikol is a non-profit organization with over 130 members.
Since 2018, Ms. Jalgalado has been designated as the Program Chairperson of the English Language Studies (ELS) Department of Camarines Norte State College. She is also actively involved in the research and extension thrusts of CNSC. Her recently completed research studies are titled Communication Style Preferences of Doctors and Patients: Bases for Communication Training Design in Clinical Diagnosis, with Dr. Virna S. Villanueva of Ateneo de Naga University as co-researcher, and Employability and Competencies of the AB English Language Graduates: Implications to Instruction and MA English Offering, with Ms. Jeselle Hernandez-Manuguid and Ms. Pearly Beth Ogayon as co-researchers. Both research were presented internationally. Ms. Jalgalado is also the project leader of the BOT-approved ELead which is the banner extension project of the ELS Department for its partner community, Brgy. San Isidro, Daet, Camarines Norte.
