Dean of the College

EDUARDO M. ABAD, EdD

Dr. Eduardo M. Abad holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Management, a Master in Educational Leadership and Management, and a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies. He has also completed training programs in educational leadership, management, research, and evaluation at the Development Academy of the Philippines.

As a social constructivist, he believes in the power of education to shape people’s mindsets, character, success, and social progress. He has authored various community-based extension projects that empower marginalized and vulnerable communities, including Indigenous cultural minorities, persons deprived of liberty, and the youth. Due to his work and advocacies, he became a two-time winner of the Institution’s ‘Gintong Parangal’ Best in Extension Services award in 2019 and 2020. His efforts and best practices led to his selection as the official contender for the Government Best Practices Recognition (GBPR) in 2022 by the Development Academy of the Philippines.

As a dedicated scholar and lover of wisdom, he made a significant contribution through his research published in an international refereed journal, focusing on community engagement, instructional tool development, educational management, and socio-cultural landscapes. He serves as a peer reviewer for a nationally circulated research journal and a technical evaluator for research and extension proposals at CNSC. Additionally, as a member of the Quality Assurance Team, he functions as an Internal Quality Auditor for the Institution.

His extensive experience and expertise in educational management led to his accreditation as an AACCUP accreditor for Level III and Level IV education programs. He is also a lecturer and reviewer for the Licensure Examination for Teachers, specializing in professional education and social studies. His dedication to education, leadership, extension services, and research culminated in his appointment as the Research Director of Camarines Norte State College in 2021. In 2022, he further advanced his career by becoming the Dean of the Graduate School, a position he holds to the present day.

The Graduate School aims to develop quality and values-laden graduates with high degree of professionalism and leadership in their chosen area of discipline through specialization, research and extension services.

OBJECTIVES

DOCTOR IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

Develop expertise and advanced skills in teaching, research, managerial, entrepreneurial, and strategic knowledge and skills necessary for leading and managing all facets of contemporary organizations;
Enhance the management skills, critical analysis, and innovative problem-solving skills of students needed to function effectively within an organization;
Create and defend their solutions to the problems of crisis management, profitable growth opportunities, and change leadership.
A strong foundation of business management and research for high-level decision-making in business; and
Theoretical and empirical competencies and skills in handling management and administrative problems.

DOCTOR IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Develop high-quality public administration leadership and expertise in government organizations to meet the international standards;
Provide advanced knowledge, skills and competencies in instruction, research, production and extension services through the use of technologies towards national growth and development;
Demonstrate understanding of current issues and trends in government administrative settings and provide knowledge on addressing challenges created by those changes; and
Instill the values of participation, accountability, responsiveness, transparency and integrity in government and governance.

DOCTOR IN EDUCATION

To develop high quality leadership and expertise in the field of educational leadership and management to meet the global standards;
To enhance conceptual, analytical and research skills in the field of educational management through the use of technologies;
Provide advanced knowledge, skills and competencies in instruction, research, production and extension services;
To strengthen research capabilities towards national growth and development;

To produce graduates who have deeper pedagogical content knowledge in teaching their area of specialization particularly in Filipino subject; and
