COLLEGE ADMISSION:
October 16, 2024 to December 27, 2024

Requirement for Application:

  • Applicants for admission must complete the online application process through ONLINE ADMISSION SYSTEM (OAS);
  • Two (2) copies of 1×1 studio shot photo with white background and nametag;
  • Certified true photocopy of Grade 11 SF-9 (Form 138) or current report card (for current Grade 12);
  • Certified true and original copy of Grade 12 Report Card, and this is for those who have already graduated from SHS but have not been enrolled in any HEI.

Other Conditions of Transferees:

  • He/she has completed not more than 50 percent of the units required to finish his/her course in his/her previous school; and not more than 12 units for graduate courses;
  • That the quota set by the Dean of the college concerned has not yet been filled up; and
    He/she has presented his/her honorable dismissal and transcript of records or an official copy of his/her grades for evaluation purposes one month before enrolment time.
  • Units earned from a recognized college/university shall be duly accredited in the College at a maximum of eighteen (18) units per semester, provided that the admission requirements and the following conditions are met;
  • That the school from where the credits were earned is recognized by the government;
    That the validation examination given by the Dean/Director for subjects with a rating below 2.5 or its equivalent is satisfied before accepting them for credit, otherwise, they should be re-enrolled;
  • That the subjects for which the credits are claimed have the same description as the corresponding subject in the curriculum offered in the college; and
    That the rules on sequencing of subjects (prerequisite) in the curriculum are observed. The concerned student shall not be allowed to enroll in a subject, the prerequisite of which taken elsewhere, have not been validated or repeated.
  • Grades of transferring students that fall below 2.5 shall be credited only upon passing the validation test, which may be requested by them from the office of the Dean/Director. A corresponding validating fee shall be charged per subject.
  • Regular sophomore students may transfer from one campus to another without re-taking the admission examination but shall be required to take qualifying examinations to be administered by the respective unit.
  • There shall be an enrolment quota of 500 students each for secondary and elementary level (600 students per CHED Order 21). (CHED Order No. 21 s 1997 and CHED order Nos. 4 & 8 s 1996)
  • Quota system will be implemented in the secondary and elementary level by ranking the student-applicants based on total equivalent points. Cut off marks will be based on total equivalent points, which is determined based on 40% of average grade and 60% of the entrance result.
  • Applicants in the elementary and secondary levels including honor graduates, recipients of scholarships (private or public), and dependents of College employees are required to take the entrance test. Both Filipino and foreign students who graduated from elementary schools abroad shall also be required to take the entrance test.
  • Each examinee shall be charged a testing fee to defray expenses incurred for testing materials etc. (Board Resolution no. 10 s 2001).

Admission Process

  • Applicants for Admission must submit to the process of online application through ONLINE ADMISSION SYSTEM (OAS);
  • In the application, students still need to identify their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd CHOICE of PROGRAM/COURSE as basis for the admission.

Admission Guidelines

  • All new incoming freshmen and transferees are required to take the College Admission Test (CNSC-CAT) which shall consist of the mental ability test and aptitude test.  
  • The overall standards for admission to any undergraduate academic program in the college shall be based on the applicant’s result in the CNSC-CAT and the high school average grade. Provision on the NCAE result may be implemented or considered in the overall rating of applicants, IF APPLICABLE.
  • The admission rating shall be based on the following criteria and corresponding weights:

Please take note: In the event the NCAE result is not available or applicable, 5% of its corresponding weight shall be applied to the GWA of the applicants; hence, a total of 10% shall be the total corresponding weight of the F-138 general weighted average.  

  • Passing admission rating in the undergraduate program shall be 75%. The result of the computed admission rating shall be classified into two (2):
  1. Applicants who get an admission rating of 85% and above; and
  2. Those who get an admission rating above 75% but below 85%.
  • Applicants who get an admission rating of 85% and above are qualified to be admitted to the quota courses of the college based on rank;
  • Those who get an admission rating above 75% but below 85% are qualified to enroll in non-quota courses based on rank;
  • Admission is based on the enrollment quota on a first come, first serve basis;
  • Those who will fall below 75% and above 60% may considered to be waitlisted if slots are available;
  • For the College of Engineering with a special qualifying exam as required for admission, the following shall observed:
  1. For a student to be eligible to take the qualifying exam he/she shall have a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 90% on his/her report card;
  2. The scores in the Engineering qualifying exam shall be used is rank the applicants based on the specified quota for each program.
