The CNSC Extension Team participated in the Gawad Kalinga: Zero Hunger Summit held on February 7, 2023, at GK Friendship Village, Brgy. Laniton, San Lorenzo Ruiz. The summit focused on the 5Ms—Magtulungan, Magpakain, Magpakalusog, Magtanim, at Magconnect—which serve as the core strategies in preventing hunger and promoting food security in the country. Flagship programs such as Kusina ng Kalikasan (KNK) and the School for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) were highlighted during the discussions.
The event brought together delegates from Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon, including extension workers, health advocates, and representatives from both public and private sectors. Local government leaders also shared their insights and initiatives in combatting hunger within their communities. A significant highlight of the summit was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between CNSC and Gawad Kalinga, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort towards achieving zero hunger in the region.
