ARELLANO, Ph.D. INSTRUCTOR I Educational Attainment ● PHD BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT ● MAEd GUIDANCE & COUNSELING ● AB PSYCHOLOGY About Dr. Joy Arellano is a dedicated individual with a background in Psychology, Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling, and holding a PhD in Behavioral Management. Her passion lies in the arts, particularly painting, and I find solace in expressing myself through poetry, with a favorite piece titled “Do Not Love Half Lovers” by Khalil Gibran. Dr. Arellano has a passion for research because it deepens her understanding of human behavior and fulfills her innate curiosity about the world. Family is at the center of her universe, as she cherishes her role as a spouse and parent to two wonderful children. Guided by the mantra “I did not come this far to only come this far”, Dr. Arellano strives to continually grow and positively impact those around her.

CASTAÑEDA Assitant Professor II Educational Attainment ● PHD in LANGUAGE AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT ● MASTER IN MANAGEMENT ● BSED ENGLISH About Dr. Jocelyn E. Trinidad was hired in Camarines Norte State College in 2004 and is currently holding the rank of Associate Professor 3. Her wide experiences in handling technical and professional writing courses became her primary motivation in promoting collaborations with industry practitioners to remain updated with the industry needs as to communication skills highly desired in the workplace. She believes that across all disciplines, communication skills and technical skills are vital components to professional success. She completed her PhD degree in Language and Literacy Development in Ateneo de Naga University under the CHED K-to-12 Transition Program in June 2021. Since then, she was designated as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences up to present. Being given the chance to work with seasoned leaders in CNSC, she considers her designation as Dean of CAS, as a form of mission to translate educational objectives into tangible outcomes to mold the mind and character of future professionals from the College of Arts and Sciences, being the center of excellence in the Arts and Sciences education. Holding a Master’s degree and currently pursuing a Doctorate in Language and Literacy Development from Ateneo De Naga University, she brings a rich academic background to her role at Camarines Norte State College. Ms. Carmona’s dedication to fostering a love for Literature in her students is evident through her innovative teaching strategies that go beyond rote learning, making the subject engaging and meaningful. Throughout her career, Ms. Carmona has emphasized the importance of students experiencing the essence of Literature. By incorporating creative activities and leveraging technology, she has successfully enriched her students’ appreciation of the arts and humanities. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as seen in her active participation in scholarly associations and community initiatives.

JALGALADO INSTRUCTOR III Educational Attainment ● DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN LANGUAGE AND LITERACY DEVELOPMENT ● MASTER OF ARTS IN ENGLISH ● BACHELOR OF ARTS IN AUDIO-VISUAL COMMUNICATION About Ms. Marianne Mae I. Jalgalado earned her baccalaureate degree, Bachelor of Arts in Audio-Visual Communication, at Bicol University in 2010 with the Latin Honor of Magna cum Laude and the following major recognitions: University Academics Excellence Awardee, Best University Undergraduate Thesis Researcher, and Outstanding College Graduate. She also served as the Student Council President of BU College of Arts and Letters from 2009-2010. Ms. Jalgalado was also recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of Bicol and one of the national finalists for the Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) in 2010 at Malacañang Palace. She earned her master’s degree, MA English, at the University of Nueva Caceres in 2019 with the distinction Excellence in Oral Defense. Right now, Ms. Jalgalado is pursuing her doctorate degree, Doctor of Philosophy in Language and Literacy Development, at Ateneo de Naga University. As an alumna of TOSP, she has been dedicating herself in conducting community projects and leadership training services in the different provinces of Bicol. She also served as the Regional Chair of TOSP-Bikol from 2017 to 2022. TOSP-Bikol is a non-profit organization with over 130 members. Since 2018, Ms. Jalgalado has been designated as the Program Chairperson of the English Language Studies (ELS) Department of Camarines Norte State College. She is also actively involved in the research and extension thrusts of CNSC. Her recently completed research studies are titled Communication Style Preferences of Doctors and Patients: Bases for Communication Training Design in Clinical Diagnosis, with Dr. Virna S. Villanueva of Ateneo de Naga University as co-researcher, and Employability and Competencies of the AB English Language Graduates: Implications to Instruction and MA English Offering, with Ms. Jeselle Hernandez-Manuguid and Ms. Pearly Beth Ogayon as co-researchers. Both research were presented internationally. Ms. Jalgalado is also the project leader of the BOT-approved ELead which is the banner extension project of the ELS Department for its partner community, Brgy. San Isidro, Daet, Camarines Norte.
