Montuya (Breakthrough), 2025 In celebration of the National Disability Rights Week, the Center for Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity (CEID) Office conducted its Gender-Fair Sign Language Training at the Graduate School Audio-Visual Room, today.The said event is in partnership with Camarines Norte Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), wherein the program magnified the importance of learning the sign languages in academic instances where inclusivity must blossom.Following this year’s theme “Empowering Communication: A training in Gender-Fair Sign Language for the Man and Women of the CNSC Workforce (Phase 1),” the attending teaching and non-teaching personnel of Camarines Norte State College have showcased their grit and participative spirit in the middle of the gender-fair sign language discussion.Francia Ann R. CEID Hosts Pride Month Celebration on Gender Equality and Inclusion By: Center for Equity, Inclusivity and Diversity Office, 2025 The Center for Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity (CEID) successfully conducted a seminar-workshop titled “Empowering Diversity: A Pride Month Celebration of Gender Equality and Inclusion” last Friday, June 13, 2025, at the CNSC Mercedes Campus.The seminar saw the participation of faculty and staff to promote awareness and advocacy for gender equality, diversity, and inclusive practices. As part of the seminar, participants engaged in hands-on sessions featuring table skirting, flower arrangement, and crochet — activities chosen to challenge traditional gender norms and foster appreciation for diverse skills and expressions.The workshop concluded with a collective pledge of allyship of the participants.

Unlocking Bright Futures View the Latest News and Updates of CNSC COLLEGE OF EDUCATION PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS DOMINATES 2025 BICOL REGIONAL STUDENT TEACHERS’ CONGRESS By: CNSC PICRO, 2025 Student-teachers from CNSC – College of Education emerged as top performers at the recent 2025 Bicol Regional Student Teachers’ Congress, held March 28 at the Bicol University College of Education. The event, organized by the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) Bicol Chapter, gathered the region’s most promising future educators under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Educators: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities.” The congress aims to highlight the role of student-teachers in addressing the dynamic demands of the education sector. The second leg of the congress took place on April 2 at the Albay Astrodome in Legazpi City, featuring discussions on resilience, innovation, and adaptability in education. A major highlight of the event was the Search for the Ten Outstanding Student Teachers (TOST)—a rigorous competition assessing E-portfolio submissions (25%), demonstration teaching (40%), and panel interviews (35%). CNSC Dominates TOST 2025CNSC student-teachers delivered outstanding performances in both categories of the TOST competition.In the Elementary Level, Arriane O. Avellana (Bachelor of Elementary Education) secured the top spot with her dynamic lesson delivery and innovative teaching strategies. She was mentored by Prof. Jeanette C. Daniel.In the Secondary Level, Isaac Gainever M. Carmelina (Bachelor of Secondary Education – Sciences) also clinched first place. He was guided by Prof. Iris Eboña and Prof. Aldrin Jake Asis, showcasing excellent content mastery and effective classroom techniques. Excellence in Educational ResearchCNSC also topped the 2025 Student Teachers’ Research Competition. The team of Erica S. Cortez, Chain D. Habana, and John Paolo R. Rafer bagged first place with their study, “Development and Evaluation of Kimikapp: A Web-Based Learning Application for Enhancing Grade 9 Least Mastered Competencies in Chemistry at Camarines Norte National High School.” Their research, under the mentorship of Prof. Glency A. Perez, explored technology-driven strategies to address learning gaps in science education. Awards and ScholarshipsIn recognition of their achievements, all three student-researchers received 50-percent scholarships from the Carl Balita Review Center and 5,000 pesos. Meanwhile, Avellana and Carmelina, the TOST Winners in elementary and secondary categories, were awarded full CBRC scholarships and 5,000 pesos each. CNSC’s consistent excellence in regional competitions reaffirms its status as a leading institution for teacher education in Bicol. The success of its student-teachers reflects the College of Education’s strong commitment to shaping resilient, innovative, and future-ready educators.

CoEd Celebrates National Topnotcher

Ms. Sabido placed 6th in the recent Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, which was conducted in September 2024. Ms. Sabido completed her Bachelor of Elementary Education with distinction, graduating as Magna Cum Laude. Her exceptional skills and dedication were further acknowledged through her recognition as an Outstanding Student Teacher, underscoring her commitment to the education profession.

Dela Cruz, PECE, the College President and Dr. Nemia Puse. They expressed their appreciation for the students’ commitment to professional development and highlighted the importance of the chosen topics in today’s educational landscape.The seminar featured two esteemed guest speakers, Mr. Ray Duovani N. Regondola, a Senior High School Faculty from Camarines Norte National High School shared insights on navigating the ever-evolving realm of pedagogies in the 21st century Philippine context and Ms. Jayzel L. Cañaveral, President of JCI Daet Bulawan who equipped participants with valuable knowledge on behavioral management strategies specifically tailored for learners with special needs.This initiative was a collaborative effort proposed by 1st year students of the College of Education and the academic organizations of KAMFIL, FYE, MORSELL, SIGMA, UPBEAT, and GENES.

Unlocking Bright Futures View the Latest News and Updates of CNSC CHED ROV Visits Abaño Campus for Monitoring And Evaluation By: CNSC PICRO, 2025 CNSC – Abaño Campus recently underwent a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V (CHED ROV) today, March 13, 2025. This initiative, executed in compliance with pertinent national legislation and CHED memorandum orders, aimed to assess the college’s adherence to quality standards and identify areas for continuous improvement.The evaluation focused on the key operational areas of Abaño Campus such as NSTP, Student Affairs Services, and Library services, to ensure alignment with the Higher Education Act of 1994 and related guidelines. We extend our sincere gratitude to Engr. Janet N. Naag, MDM (OIC-Chief Education Program Specialist) and Alicia M. Nieto, MIT (Education Supervisor II), who evaluated the offices under College of Education.We thank CHED ROV for their work and guidance, and we appreciate the cooperation of the College of Education personnel in making this evaluation a success.
