Vice President for Research and Extension
DR. ROSALIE A. ALMADRONES, Ph.D.
The Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (OVPRE) particularly the Research Services Division continuously provides services in generating, disseminating and applying research-based knowledge and technologies for sustainable development. The aim of the College is not only to generate researches, but at the same time have these completed researches published in international refereed journals and presented in national or regional or even international fora, so that dissemination of new knowledge becomes possible. Conferences serve as the best avenue for experts in various fields to share the discoveries and inventions of our faculty which are products of their great and creative minds. Also, research collaboration with other state universities and colleges, active partnership with other organizations/institutions for purposes of research engagement are prioritized.
The Extension Services Division, on the other hand adheres to the conduct of community services promoting economic and social transformation of the marginalized and vulnerable groups in the province. This Division aims at developing an increasingly productive and self-sustained community living in harmony with the environment through acquired knowledge and skills in the fields of applied sciences, education, agri-fishery and industrial technologies. Its community services respond to the priority thrusts as reflected in the extension agenda DISKARTE 2.0 (Delivering Inclusive Service through Knowledge sharing and Application of Research-based Technology to Empower communities) and its programs, to wit: LINGAP (Livelihood Initiatives for the Needy in the Grassroots to Alleviate Poverty), KKK (Kolehiyo at Komunidad, Katuwang sa Pag-unlad), and PEACE (Promotion of Environmentally-sustainable Activities Conserving the Ecosystem.
Other offices of the OVPRE are on innovation, queen pineapple research and development, publication and knowledge management, social policy research, fabrication, and intellectual property.
