CNSC Signs MOA with Tuaca Livelihood Coco Pine Crops Organization (TLCPCO) By: CNSC ESD, 2023 CNSC) forged partnership with the Tuaca Livelihood Coco Pine Crops Organization (TLCPCO) through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on October 13, 2023. TLCPCO was represented by its President Mr. Danilo A. Barrameda and Punong Barangay Edna V. Barrameda of Brgy. Tuaca. Present during the ceremony were Dr. Marlo M. De la Cruz, PECE, CNSC College President; the OVPRE Team led by Dr. Rosalie A. Almadrones, Vice President for Research and Extension; Dr. Girly H. Naval, Director of the Extension Services Division (ESD); and Dr. Jocelyn E. Trinidad, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). This partnership underscores CNSC’s ongoing commitment to community-based livelihood and development initiatives.

Represented by School Principal Dr. Teresita A. Orendain, this collaboration aims to strengthen institutional capacity and promote the development of a globally competitive knowledge economy through shared academic and extension initiatives.

CNSC-CAS and Brgy. Catandunganon Forge Partnership for Community Empowerment By: CNSC ESD, 2023 On May 30, 2023, a new partnership was established through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between CNSC–College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), represented by College President Dr. Marlo M. De La Cruz, and the Barangay Council of Catandunganon, Mercedes, Camarines Norte, led by Punong Barangay, Jovito Gardona. The agreement aims to empower local communities—including staff, people’s organizations, and various sectors—by enhancing quality of life through income-generating initiatives, capacity-building, livelihood training, and environmental conservation programs. Following the MOA signing, both parties actively participated in Part 2 of the planning activity, facilitated by Dr. Rusty G. Abanto, lead proponent of the project and BS Biology faculty member. With the support of Extension Coordinator Ms. Sheela G. Salvador and BS Biology faculty member Ms. Maria Angelica M. Ella, the visiting barangay representatives were also given a guided campus tour to cap off the day’s meaningful collaboration.

CNSC Joins Gawad Kalinga’s Zero Hunger Summit cum Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony By: CNSC ESD, 2023 The CNSC Extension Team participated in the Gawad Kalinga: Zero Hunger Summit held on February 7, 2023, at GK Friendship Village, Brgy. Laniton, San Lorenzo Ruiz. The summit focused on the 5Ms—Magtulungan, Magpakain, Magpakalusog, Magtanim, at Magconnect—which serve as the core strategies in preventing hunger and promoting food security in the country. Flagship programs such as Kusina ng Kalikasan (KNK) and the School for Experiential and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) were highlighted during the discussions. The event brought together delegates from Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Sorsogon, including extension workers, health advocates, and representatives from both public and private sectors. Local government leaders also shared their insights and initiatives in combatting hunger within their communities. A significant highlight of the summit was the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between CNSC and Gawad Kalinga, marking the beginning of a collaborative effort towards achieving zero hunger in the region.

CNSC, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and Manide/Kabihug Community Forge Partnership By: CNSC ESD, 2022 On November 24, 2022, Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), and the Manide/Kabihug community formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement in a ceremonial event. This significant moment was one of the highlights of KADUEN 2022: Training on Awareness and Appreciation on Gender Diversity among the Manide Tribe, a two-day training held in support of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) 2022. Organized by the CNSC Office of the President – Center for Equity, Inclusivity, and Diversity (CEID), led by Dr. Delma Jean Abad, the event emphasized collaboration for equity and cultural inclusion. NCIP Region V Regional Director Mr. Agosto B. Maglunsod graced the ceremony and affirmed his strong commitment to the partnership.

National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region V seals partnership with CNSC By: CNSC ESD, 2021 The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region V officially partnered with Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) through a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) signing held on April 14, 2021, at the CNSC Pavilion, Main Campus, Daet, Camarines Norte. The event began with an Audio-Video Presentation of Project EPANAW – a national initiative that highlights the rich culture, traditions, and ancestral domains of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICC/IPs). The ceremony gathered representatives from NCIP, CNSC, local government units, and members of the Manide tribe of Jose Panganiban. The program featured messages of support from CNSC OIC President/CHED RD Dr. Freddie T. Bernal and NCIP Regional Director Lee T. Arroyo, emphasizing commitment to the development and inclusion of Indigenous Peoples through education, research, and cultural preservation. A ceremonial signing followed, with representatives from both institutions and local government officials serving as witnesses. The highlight of the event was the vibrant cultural presentation by the Manide tribe, showcasing their music, dance, and crafts. This partnership marks a meaningful step towards advocating for the rights, recognition, and empowerment of indigenous communities in the region.
