These initiatives aim to bolster Fishery Law Enforcement while advancing sustainable environmental practices across Camarines Norte. On July 30, 2025, the CNSC-IEG team, alongside Tanggol Kalikasan, visited Local Government Unit (LGU) – Daet to monitor the delivery and readiness of a newly purchased 30-foot motorboat. The vessel is set for engine installation provided by Tanggol Kalikasan and will be used to support Bantay Dagat operations in enforcing fishery laws in the province. The activity was led by Felizardo B. Barsaga Jr. and Dr. Reuben P. Naperi (Municipal Agriculturist) in close coordination with the Bantay Dagat team. As part of capacity-building efforts, seven members of Bantay Dagat recently attended the Fishery Law Enforcement Training held in Paracale, Camarines Norte. The said training aimed to enhance patrol efficiency, strengthen coastal protection, and ensure the sustainability of marine resources.Following the monitoring activity in Daet, the team proceeded to LGU Mercedes, where they met with Emil O. Torregosa to discuss current challenges and strategic recommendations for improving the implementation of the ASAP proposal. In LGU Basud, environmental conservation efforts took priority through a mangrove and beach tree planting activity. Species such as Agoho and Bitaog were planted to help prevent shoreline erosion and provide natural habitats for marine life. On July 31, 2025, the initiative extended to Barangay Poblacion, Capalonga, with a Mangrove Tree Growing Project and Mangrove Nursery spearheaded by Rodrigo E. Rawat, EnP. Drawing inspiration from the hard-learned lessons of the devastating 1988 Typhoon Rosing, the project seeks to strengthen coastal defenses, mitigate the impacts of storm surges, and restore marine biodiversity. Reforestation efforts focused on areas formerly known as Pulo ni Sasot, now Isla Madera, including both Tawid na Malaki and Tawid na Maliit.Through these coordinated actions, the CNSC-IEG Team led by Dr. Rosalie A. Almadrones (OVPRE) with Dr. Girly H. Naval, Dr. Jofhiline F. Dygico, Roel V. Rafer, MPA, and Marianne O. Clemente, MBM together with the Tanggol Kalikasan Team, Atty. Fritzielyn Q. Palmiery, Atty. Mark Martinez, Ms. Doris Amandy, and Mr. John Lloyd B. Abejo and partner LGUs, continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to protecting marine ecosystems, empowering local enforcement teams, and building climate resilience in the coastal communities of Camarines Norte.
