According to the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA), Camarines Norte is expected to experience a heat index of 43°C on the said date.  This level of heat index poses health risks, particularly to students and personnel who are exposed to prolonged heat. In this regard, all classes scheduled for May 2, 2025, shall be conducted through online modality to ensure the safety and well-being of our academic community.  Faculty members are urged to make the necessary adjustments in their instructional delivery and to ensure that students are properly guided in accessing their lessons and submitting their requirements online.  Furthermore, faculty members are allowed to work from home on the said date but are reminded to submit their CSR-FLM on time. With the theme “FLIP: Forging Leaders of Innovation in the Philippines,” the national platform recognized outstanding student-led innovations from across the country. In the Transportation and Logistics Category, CNSC’s team won with their project Smart Road Sentinel. The student innovators—Mark Gabrielle B. Ong, Maria Angela Alison G. de Chavez, Paul Andre D. Café, and Christian John D. Ibañez—were mentored by Dr. Mary Grace B. Bolos, DIT; Ms. Sharine A. Gutierrez, MSIT; and College of Computing and Multimedia Studies Dean Dr. Daniel E. Maligat, Jr. Meanwhile, in the Learning and Education Category, CNSC also claimed the top prize with the project A Solar-Powered School-on-Wheels with Modern Learning Tools for Basic Education Accessibility in Remote Manide Communities. The winning team included Rishel Mae L. Patropez, Almond G. Abordo, Antonio J. Farparan Jr., and Stella Marie N. Angas, coached by Engr. Myrine Ysobelle S. Sioco. These accolades underscore CNSC’s commitment to fostering innovative solutions that address pressing societal challenges and empower communities through technology and education.
