ROHILYN EGLE – COLENARES Associate Professor 1 Educational Attainment Master of Science in Agronomy (Crop Physiology/Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) University of the Philippines Los Baños Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Agronomy – Crop Production and Management) University of the Philippines Los Baños About Rohilyn Egle-Colenares joined CNSC Labo Campus as an Instructor 1 on July 1, 2014, immediately after completing her Master’s degree. In 2015, she achieved an impressive second place in the national level of the Licensure Examination for Agriculturist (LEA). She also holds Civil Service Professional eligibility, Horticulture NC II certification, and Trainers Methodology Certificate 1.   From 2015 to 2019, Rohilyn served as the Research Coordinator at CNSC Labo Campus, and since 2019, she has held the role of Program Chairperson for BS Agriculture. In this capacity, she spearheaded the approval of the BS Agriculture curriculum, introducing majors in Animal and Crop Science. Her dedication to enhancing the program resulted in the establishment of LEA Tutorials at Labo Campus to support aspiring agriculturists. Currently, she is actively working on securing approval for the Master of Science in Agriculture program at CNSC.   As a faculty member, Rohilyn has supervised 22 groups of undergraduate thesis students and contributed significantly as a Trainer in the Trainer’s Methodology Course at CNSC. Her commitment to quality education is further evidenced by her role as an Internal Quality Management System (QMS) Auditor in 2018.   Ms. Colenares is an Associate Member of the esteemed National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), a distinguished organization of researchers and scientists. She is also a member of the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture (GSD-HAS), recognized for her consistent academic excellence since 2009. Her professional affiliations further include memberships in the Crop Science Society of the Philippines (2014) and the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA).   Her expertise spans across agronomy, particularly in rice and sugarcane production, as well as crop production and management with a focus on Queen pineapple. Ms. Colenares has a deep understanding of crop physiology, molecular biology, and biotechnology. Her research interests extend to energy balance in agriculture, sustainable agricultural practices, soil-plant relationships, stress physiology in plants, and postharvest management of crops.

ANCHUELO Instructor I Educational Attainment Masters of Science in Plant Science (on-going) Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Soil Science Major Central Bicol State University of Agriculture About           Paul Medard P. Anchuelo has been a devoted and licensed Agriculturist since 2016, specializing in Soil Science. He began working at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) as an educator. Following that, he worked as a Science Research Specialist at Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) until joining the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) – Labo Campus. His knowledge enabled him to participate in a variety of community involvement initiatives aimed at supporting and assisting persons with disabilities (PWD), youth, and farmers. His commitment to these communities is demonstrated by his continual attempts to improve their livelihoods and well-being.            Mr. Anchuelo is a member of the Philippine Association of Agriculturist (PAA). He teaches general agriculture courses and soil science courses across Agriculture-related programs.

MARY JANE JANUARIO-FERRER

MARY JANE JANUARIO-FERRER Assistant Professor II Educational Attainment Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies (On-going) University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Master of Science in Agricultural Extension (2015) Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agricultural Extension (2010) Central Bicol State University of Agriculture About Mary Jane Januario-Ferrer, a licensed professional agriculturist (2011), was employed at Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) on December 7, 2011 and assigned to teach agriculture subjects at the CNSC-Entienza Campus. She started her career as a Contact of Service (COS) faculty member, but that changed on September 16, 2013, when she was recommended and appointed for a temporary permanent status. And by 2015, she had successfully graduated from her Master’s degree with recognition as a Deans List awardee. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy in Development Studies at the University of the Philippines Los Banos in Laguna. For 12 years employed and still counting at CNSC, she continuously served as a facilitator, lecturer, and discussant of agricultural extension and agri-related subjects using varied instructional technology to enhance pedagogical technique and a combination of teaching strategies. She also served as an external adviser for the Entienza Campus Student Council in 2016–2017. Along the way, she was also designated as Extension Coordinator (2012–2020), prepared an extension proposal as the main proponent, and implemented it, followed by several extension activities in partnership with LGUs and DA-ATI Region 5. In 2017–2018, she was also designated as the Gender and Development (GAD) Coordinator. From 2017–2018, she proposed and successfully conducted various approved GAD seminars and activities. While still on the CNSC-Entienza Campus, she was also designated as Student Services Coordinator in 2014–2015 and re-designated in 2016–2017. And at present, she was on the CNSC-Labo Campus, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, under the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture as core faculty and also designated as Extension Coordinator (2018–2020). She was a member of various organizations such as Philippine Extension and Advisory Services Network Inc. (PhilEASNet), Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. (PAA, Inc.), Philippine Association of Extension Program Implementors (PAEPI), Inc., CNSC faculty and employee association, and an alumna of ATI-ITCPH for several training courses offered. Also, she was invited as a resource person and facilitator of extension activities like PRA training sponsored by OPAg and DA-ATI Region 5, radio programs in various local radio stations, and seminars conducted at barangay level. And she also presented research and extension papers at academic gatherings and local paper presentations.

JESSA DUMAGSANG-MIRARAN

JESSA DUMAGSANG-MIRARAN Instructor I Educational Attainment Masters of Science in Animal Science Central Bicol State University of Agriculture Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Animal Science Major Central Bicol State University of Agriculture About Just after her graduation in 2018, Jessa Dumagsang-Miraran has only 2 months preparing for her board exams and by her hard work, dedication and grace of God she made it to passed the Licensure Examination for Agriculturist in the same year. In February 2019, she was hired as Instructor I at Camarines Norte State College under contract of service employee, also with a designation as Animal Production Manager. In August 2019, her position was reverted to temporary permanent and July 2023 she obtained her master’s degree, fortunately acquired permanent position in the same institution with a designation of Gender and Development Coordinator of Labo Campus from 2022 until present. As Gender and Development Coordinator, she’s advocating and promoting the gender equality and its impact on development towards inclusive society for all. She also serves as lecturer on LEA Review to the aspiring agriculturist. She’s also helping the facilitation of offering of Masters of Science in Agriculture in CNSC. As a faculty member, she also handled more or less 10 groups of undergraduate students’ thesis. Ms. Miraran is also involved in different professional organization such as the Philippine Association of Agriculturist (PAA) and Association of Extensionist. She teaches basic Animal Science courses, Animal breeding, ruminant production, and dairy production and processing.

ALVIN P. MUSCA

Prior to this role, he distinguished himself as a Senior High School Teacher at the Department of Education Division of Camarines Sur. Dr. Musca holds notable achievements including passing the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists (LEA) in 2004 and the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in 2008. Additionally, he successfully completed the TESDA Trainers Methodology Level 1 (TM 1), Crop Production, and Horticulture NC III certifications.

ARNEL V. SAZON

Sazon was hired as a Contract of Service (COS) Instructor on August 24, 2020, under the Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (BAT) Department in the CNSC Labo Campus. He passed the Career Service Examination Professional of CSC (2003) and the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists (LEA) of PRC (2017).   He was designated Animal Production Manager and Layer Project In-Charge in the Production Division of Labo Campus. He is also one of the proponents of four approved project proposals in the Income Generating Project (IGP) of the institution and one project proposal with DA-ACEF.

Currently, he serves as the Production Division Manager at CANR, where he is responsible for the efficient and reliable operation of the Income Generating Projects (IGPs) on campus, under the supervision of the Production Division Head. His role involves planning and organizing farm production schedules, coordinating with the Production Director, and ensuring that all IGP aspects are completed within budget and meet targets. His expertise is in farm business management, agricultural marketing, farming systems, principles of crop production, organic agriculture, agriculture, and business finance.

MANILYN VILLAFLORES – DASCO

Before her tenure at CNSC, she was an educator at the Department of Education, specifically at Paracale National High School.   Her academic journey has been rigorous and rewarding. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Plant Science at Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), where she also earned her Master of Science in Agricultural Education. Her dedication to education and agricultural science is demonstrated by her success in passing both the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists (LEA) and the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), which she took with just a month of interval, in July and September 2012, respectively.   In addition to her formal education, she has obtained National Certificates (NC) in various fields related to agriculture, including Organic Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Production, and Agricultural Crops Production. These certifications have equipped her with a broad and versatile skill set, allowing her to effectively contribute to both the academic and practical aspects of agricultural science. Since 2021, she has had the honor of serving as the College Secretary of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. In this role, she has utilized her administrative and academic skills to support the college’s mission and vision, fostering an environment that promotes learning and research.   In addition to her administrative duties, she is actively involved in guiding students in their research endeavors. She currently serves as a research adviser to 12 students for their undergraduate thesis. This role allows her to mentor and inspire the next generation of researchers and professionals in the field of agriculture. Furthermore, she is an adviser to several school organizations including the Supreme Student Council, where she provides guidance and support to students in their extracurricular activities.   Throughout her career, her unwavering passion for teaching and dedication to the field of agriculture have been her driving forces. IRVIN MUSCA

College of Agriculture and Natural Resources View the latest information about the faculty of CANR IRVIN MUSCA Assistant Professor I Educational Attainment Master of Agriculture in Agronomy Kyungpook National University, South Korea Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Agronomy Specialized in Crop Production and Management University of the Philippines Los Banos About Irvin Oquias Bequillo transferred to the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) as Instructor I on August 1, 2019, from the National Farmer Scientists Training Program (FSTP) as Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) of the Agricultural Systems Institute (ASI) in the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB). He holds a Civil Service Professional Eligibility and a License Agriculturist. He was designated as Crop Production Manager, Special Crop Production In-Charge, and Manager of the Technology and Livelihood Center (TLC) at Campus B of CNSC-Labo. He also trained as an Internal Auditor for Quality Assurance under the Production Team as a Member and Team Leader. He is the current Extension Services Coordinator the College Coordinator of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) and a Component Faculty Implementer of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS). His experiences as a Volunteer from the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, UPLB made him a Focal Person for the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) of CNSC to promote volunteerism among students, faculty, employees, and alumni.    Mr. Bequillo is a member of various organizations such as the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA)-Canarium ovatum Chapter, UP REPS Society, UP Society of Agronomy Alumni, UPLB Alumni Association, and different Cooperatives like the Laguna Prime MPC (UPLB CDC), Camarines Norte Permaculture Agriculture Cooperative (CaNoPeACe), Holy Rosary MPC, Jose Panganiban Primary Hospital Cooperative, Labo Progressive MPC, Talisayon MPC and the President of the College of Agriculture Faculty and Employees Association (CAFEA).   His expertise in the different farming systems nationwide, agronomy, crop production, and management particularly his experiences in the community for documentation of the Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices of the Batak Tribe in Roxas, Palawan made him closer to the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) where he was assigned in different community outreach and extension projects such as the Mangyan & Tau Buid Tribes in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Aetas of Bamban, Tarlac and Mabalacat, Pampanga and all the farmers of the different FSTP Associations/Cooperatives organized nationwide. He also served as the Technical, Admin and Finance Staff Pambansang Inisyatibo sa Binhi at Likas-kayang Pagsasaka sa Pilipinas (PABINHI Pilipinas, Inc.) or National Initiative on Seeds and Sustainable Agriculture in the Philippines in partnership with the Resource Efficient Agricultural Production (REAP)-Canada under the Agriculture Fund Environment and Sustainable Development Program (ESDP), Projects and Innovation Unit – Canadian Partnership Branch, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). He also served as Technical Assistant of the Volens Itinerans-University of the Philippines(UP) Education Research Program(ERP)/Center for Integrative & Development Studies (CIDS)-Saragpunta Federation of Northern Tagbanua Communities collaborative program on sustainable development in Calamian Tagbanua, Northern Palawan assisted in the implementation of Palay-Aralan cum Gulayan of the Technical Working Group in Agriculture of the project.
