ELIZARIO INSTRUCTOR III Educational Attainment Master of Science in Environmental Science 2013 -2018 Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Science 1997 – 2002 About A dedicated educator with a strong passion for environmental awareness and sustainability. She strives to educate and inspire students about protecting our environment and implementing sustainable practices in their daily lives. The program chairperson of the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, emphasizes appreciating and acknowledging the natural environment, understand how human activities impact both the environment and society, and recognizing the broader implications of these interactions. She believes that simple steps or actions can lead to significant macro actions or steps, making a meaningful difference in improving our environment and society. Her goal is to foster a more sustainable environmentally friendly community through these efforts.

ALMA L. MERANO

MERANO Instructor – COS Educational Attainment Master of Science in Environmental Science major in General Science Education 2022-2024 Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management 2014-2018 About Ms. Merano has a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Camarines Norte State College – College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Labo, Camarines Norte, and a master’s degree from the University of Nueva Caceres in Naga City. Her academic journey started in her alma mater at the College of Agriculture, Environmental Science Department in 2021, where she engaged with the institution’s three core functions: instruction, research, and extension. She has completed one extension project with some of her colleagues, has two ongoing research proposals, and one is about to finished. She has no publications yet but is looking forward to publishing after completing the ongoing research. She is always looking forward to creating instructional learning materials for the Environmental Science program.

ROHILYN EGLE – COLENARES

ROHILYN EGLE – COLENARES Associate Professor 1 Educational Attainment Master of Science in Agronomy (Crop Physiology/Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) University of the Philippines Los Baños Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Agronomy – Crop Production and Management) University of the Philippines Los Baños About Rohilyn Egle-Colenares joined CNSC Labo Campus as an Instructor 1 on July 1, 2014, immediately after completing her Master’s degree. In 2015, she achieved an impressive second place in the national level of the Licensure Examination for Agriculturist (LEA). She also holds Civil Service Professional eligibility, Horticulture NC II certification, and Trainers Methodology Certificate 1.   From 2015 to 2019, Rohilyn served as the Research Coordinator at CNSC Labo Campus, and since 2019, she has held the role of Program Chairperson for BS Agriculture. In this capacity, she spearheaded the approval of the BS Agriculture curriculum, introducing majors in Animal and Crop Science. Her dedication to enhancing the program resulted in the establishment of LEA Tutorials at Labo Campus to support aspiring agriculturists. Currently, she is actively working on securing approval for the Master of Science in Agriculture program at CNSC.   As a faculty member, Rohilyn has supervised 22 groups of undergraduate thesis students and contributed significantly as a Trainer in the Trainer’s Methodology Course at CNSC. Her commitment to quality education is further evidenced by her role as an Internal Quality Management System (QMS) Auditor in 2018.   Ms. Colenares is an Associate Member of the esteemed National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), a distinguished organization of researchers and scientists. She is also a member of the Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture (GSD-HAS), recognized for her consistent academic excellence since 2009. Her professional affiliations further include memberships in the Crop Science Society of the Philippines (2014) and the Philippine Association of Agriculturists (PAA).   Her expertise spans across agronomy, particularly in rice and sugarcane production, as well as crop production and management with a focus on Queen pineapple. Ms. Colenares has a deep understanding of crop physiology, molecular biology, and biotechnology. Her research interests extend to energy balance in agriculture, sustainable agricultural practices, soil-plant relationships, stress physiology in plants, and postharvest management of crops.
