CNSC delegation, headed by COTT Dean Dr. Jerome H. Baldemoro, participated in the Bikol Foundation for Higher Education (BFHE) Academic Roadshow 2025 – 2nd lap (Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte Cluster) held on March 18, 2025 at Arrupe Convention Hall, Ateneo de Naga University, Naga City.
This pivotal event aimed at driving meaningful discourse on the state and future of higher education in the Bicol Region.
The roadshow brought together esteemed educators, academic leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders dedicated to uplifting the standards of tertiary education across Bicol.

A major highlight of the roadshow was the keynote presentation by Dr. Karol Mark Yee, Executive Director of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II). Dr. Yee delivered an insightful discussion on βAdvancing Higher Education in the Bicol Region: Challenges and Opportunities,β drawing from EDCOM IIβs research and recommendations. He underscored pressing issues such as disparities in access to quality education, limited resources for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and the need for more resilient and globally competitive academic programs. He also outlined opportunities for collaboration between higher education institutions (HEIs) and the government to foster innovation, improve learning outcomes, and address gaps in faculty development, infrastructure, and research capacities.
