Mercedes, Camarines Norte – April 3, 2025 – Faculty and students from the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC) Abaño Campus, led by the Wise, Optimistic, and Responsible TLE Home Economics Educators (WORTHE) Organization, conducted a benchmarking activity at the CNSC Institute of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (IFMS) Campus in Mercedes.

 

The activity, titled “AFAKAHUSAY: Practical Engagement on Fisheries and Marine Sciences Insights,” aimed to enhance knowledge and skills in aquaculture, fish processing, and value addition, aligning with the theme “Water to Wealth: Nurturing Agricultural Wisdom in Marine Science for Sustainable Futures in Technology Livelihood Education.”

 

The seminar session featured insightful talks:

Introduction to Aquaculture and Harvesting Process

Harvesting and Icing Fish

Food Safety and Fish Processing with Value Addition

Hands-on Fish Processing and Value Addition Activity

 

Interactive open forums allowed participants to engage with experts and receive certificates of participation. The event also included a campus tour at the campus.

 

The benchmarking activity fostered collaboration between campuses, equipping future educators with industry-relevant skills while reinforcing CNSC’s commitment to research-driven and sustainable fisheries education.
